The droppings you have found - are they mice or rats?
See the pictures to give you a better idea as to what they are.
Mouse droppings
Bit smaller than rice grains - and dark in colour. Regular in shape.
Rat droppings
Are larger, and can be a bit irregular in shape. Also dark.
Have you found droppings, and need our help?
At MG Pest Control we have an effective system for either issue - developed over years of experience.
Rats can be a bit more difficult, especially when trying to work out how they are gaining access. Often in residential settings, rats gain access via a fault in the sewer system under the property somewhere. The problem is that often homes have been altered over the decades, and the builders often aren't thinking about rats, not properly capping redundant sections of sewer, or cutting a hole for a branch line, then they change their mind, and don't repair the first effort, or cause damage to existing pipes through there foundation work for a new extension for example. This then creates a hidden access point, for rats to leave the sewer and enter your homes cavities.
Mice - they can literally walk in through an air brick, or the smallest gap under a door, or hole around a pipe. They are easy to manage though, if you know what you're doing.
Remember though - Rats and Mice don't do door numbers = If you're detached, that's much easier. BUT, if your home is only part of a larger building, then you probably can't control the areas you don't own, or occupy. Meaning any rodents in these areas, can often access your area. Sometimes you may be able to co-ordinate with everyone else though. The smaller the number of residents that share a building, the easier it will be for you to make arrangements (guided by us) to sort the rodent issue for the whole building.
