Fleas have 4 stages, 2 of which are eggs and pupae. No insecticide can kill these 2 stages, as they are encased.

However, do note you cannot vacuum or clean the treated areas for several weeks. Only a light dust pan is allowed. Often one spray is enough - but sometimes more are needed, if it's a heavy flea infestation.
