By Summer - the nests are established, some nests containing a few thousand wasps.

Autumn - as the days shorten, you are using your lights more inside, especially early morning or late afternoon. They are attracted through your open windows. Especially if there's a nest on your house somewhere. We often get calls come late summer/autumn. Where someone has a few hundred of them come into their house through an open window, attracted by a light.

By Winter - just a few wasps are left. New fertilised Queens have started hibernating, waiting for the first warmth of Spring - to start the wasp cycle all over again.
